After Emperor Gore and the Dinosaur Empire is defeated, a new enemy, Emperor Burai and his Hyakki (Hundred Demon) Empire rises and threatens to take over Earth. Ryoma, Hayato, and newcomer Benkei pilot the new Getter Robo G to save Earth.

Eight years prior to the story, explosions caused by scientists at the foot of Mt. Asama which caused a meltdown of Getter Ray energy that spread throughout all of Japan. People throughout the world began to experience some extreme mutations from the irradiation of Getter Energy that caused them to fuse with machinery and organic material and were dubbed the Idea. To combat them the Getter Robo is created by the organisation GETTER and three pilots: Ryo, Hayato, and Musashi are recruited to pilot it and battle the Idea.
An old Hayato (the original Getter 2 pilot) leads the Saotome Research Facility, which has developed the Getter Robo Hien to combat a new force which threatens the Earth: large plantlike monsters.
This is currently the latest arc/saga of the Getta Robo series.
The ultimate cross over manga featuring Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Grendizer, Getter Robo, Getter Robo G and Jeeg! These all-stars band together in order to defend Earth from cosmic evil. This manga is in the same vein as all those old Toei cross over movies, and the self-parody gets pretty strong later on.
