Originally published in 2000, this oneshot was released in commemoration of Japan participation in the football tournament of Sydney 2000. The story is an imaginary match played in the imaginary game Millennium Soccer 2000 where players from the series are seen as participants in a match for the gold medal. - Second story. The arc lasting 10 chapters from April 2023 to April 2024 ended serialization half-way through the match when the mangaka Yoichi Takahashi announced his retirement, thus ending the official published serialization but continuing the story at his own pace, on the official Captain Tsubasa World website has a web-comic under the title Captain Tsubasa: Rising Sun - Finals.
