Patalliro is the story of the young boy king Patalliro and his many misadventures as he avoids being assassinated by various beautiful boys thanks to the skills of his bodyguard, Major Jack Bancoran from England's Information Bureau. Later they're joined by the hot-blooded Maraich, and a beautiful love-and-hate relationship blossoms between him and Bancoran.

The story is set in a fictional Japan where people are discriminated according to their birthplace and residence. The Saitama Prefecture is particularly criticized by the people of Tokyo. One day, a mysterious male student named Rei Asami transfers to Hakuhoudou Academy, a prestigious high school in Tokyo, from America. Momomi Hakuhoudou, the male president of the school's student council and the grandson of the director of the school, gradually becomes attracted to him.

A parody of 19th-century romance, starring an eccentric Indian prince Rashanu (who also appears as a supporting character in Patalliro! by the same mangaka).
