Midori's mother has finally acquired her dream home, but it isn't long before supernatural phenomenas disrupt the peace of the family. He sometimes sees strange shadows outside his window, but tries his best to simply ignore them. As his seventeenth birthday approaches, the shadow becomes more and more clear, and the vision more vivid. Slowly, the once kind and caring Takashi becomes indifferent, and eventually cold and biting towards everyone around him. What does this sudden change in attitude have to do with his seventeenth birthday?

8 years agoThe decrepit building was condemned long ago, but every time the owners try to tear it down, "accidents" start to happen-people get hurt, sometimes even killed. Mai Taniyama and her classmates have heard the rumors that the creepy old high school is haunted-possibly by ghosts from the Second World War. So one rainy day they gather at the old school to tell ghost stories, hoping to attract one of the suspected spirits. No ghosts materialize, but Mai and her friends do meet Kazuya Shibuya, the handsome young owner of Shibuya Psychic Research, who's been hired to investigate paranormal activity at the school. Also at the scene are an exorcist, a Buddhist monk, a woman who can speak with the dead, and an outspoken Shinto priestess. Surely one of them will have the talents to solve this mystery!
Chapter 44
8 years agoSotoba is a village "surrounded by death", a small traditional Japanese village who's primary industry is creating grave markers out of the Fir trees that surround the isolated town. On one particularly hot summer, people start dying in droves, with some people living with the rotting corpses of their family for weeks before their own bodies are discovered by neighbors. Meanwhile, the residents begin to gossip about the new family who moved into the newly built mansion atop a mountain in the town. As the death toll mounts, the doctors of the town suspect it to be a new type of epidemic, until they begin to see the figures of the deceased walking in the night. Shiki blurs the line between good and evil, following a story that has no true protagonists or antagonists, but rather two sides attempting to survive in a deadly environment. Can one be called evil because they didn't starve to death?
