On Christmas Eve night, Meiko, a female college student, planned to spend a peaceful evening alone on the island. However, when she woke up, a corpse was lying in front of her. From that moment, she was faced with a series of grueling trials unlike anything she had ever experienced before. To reunite with her parents, whom she parted with in an unfortunate way, she must survive—even in this twisted world.

Socially-awkward Uehara wanted to be an entomologist since he was a kid, and he spent all his time chasing that dream. When he failed, he was forced to come back to his home island, where his mother was completely unsympathetic to his problems. He arrived to his home island along with many other tourists, who were there to observe an unusual astronomical event. Afterward, Uehara encountered a strange bug whose bite transformed his body (including his penis). What is happening to Uehara, and what will become of his life?

Near future. World-renowned mathematician/physicist Francis Dullam loses his left brain hemisphere and retires from the hard science to study dolphins. Several years later he comes up with a new thesis (which is essentially a collection of dolphin footage). As the "thesis" is being severely criticized by the media, Ishii Mitsunari (a student living in America) discovers the idea hidden there, that will help create a true Artificial Intelligence. Motivated to create the AI first, Mitsunari leaves for Okinawa, to follow the footsteps of Dullam.
