Undertrain is an experimental manga drawn by Studio 4°C’s Tatsuyuki Tanaka (Boiling Head) exclusively for Comickers. Those of you who are familiar with Tanaka’s works will recognize his style instantly. Even though there’s not much story in it, Undertrain manages to create a fascinating world filled with vivid details in only 16 pages. It’s as though you’re not looking at a manga, but a storyboard for an animated movie.

In a future where cyborgs are more common than fully flesh and blood humans, a girl goes out to seek oil when her family's ration gets cut off. She needs to get it quickly so her grandmother's heart doesn't burn out, but no one has ever gone up above to the ration center and returned alive.

A young man wakes up to devastation that could only have been caused by WWIII. Knowing he might be the last man alive, he sets off to see if he can rebuild the world.
