Koto and her brothers, Ah and Un are stuck in a strange city causing massive mayhem through the land. They are searching for an atypical rabbit in order to return home. Koto, who is the eldest of the three, seems to have some sort of connection to this weird place ruled by a monk, a demon, and a priest. Nozomi Yumehara, a regular student, finds a magical book called the Dream Collet in the library and meets Coco and Nuts, two creatures from the Palmier Kingdom. They plead with Nozomi to restore their world, which has been destroyed by an organization called the Nightmares. By completing the Dream Collet and finding the 55 Pinkies, they can make any wish come true. Meanwhile, the Nightmares are moving into the real world. When Nozomi agrees to help, she transforms into the magical girl Cure Dream and joins four fellow students to form a team of Pretty Cures.

Nagisa Misumi and Honoka Yukishiro couldn't be more different. Nagisa is sporty and Honoka bookish, and while they attend the same school, they have very little in common - until one day, a shower of shooting stars brings two very unlikely visitors into their lives: Mipple and Mepple, refugees from the Garden of Light, which has been conquered by Darkness. Endowed with new and startling powers, Nagisa and Honoka become Cure Black and Cure White, magical defenders of the light — together, they are Pretty Cure.

Mirai Asahina is a 13-year-old girl who sees a mysterious object fall from the sky into the park nearby. Excitedly, she sets off with her beloved stuffed bear Mofurun to search the park. There she meets Riko, a young witch flying on a broom. Riko is from the magical world, and she's searching for a jewel called the Linkle Stone Emerald in the "No Magic" world. When Mirai, Riko, and Mofurun join hands, with the magic words "Cure Up RaPaPa!" they transform into the legendary Pretty Cure!

Love Momozono is a 14-year-old student at Yotsuba Junior Highschool that tends to care more for others than for herself. One day she visits a show of the famous dance unit "Trinity" and decides to become a dancer, too. On the same event, subordinates of the Labyrinth Kingdom show up who want to collect the unhappiness of the audience. Love gets the power to change into Cure Peach and fights them. Soon after, she is joined by her good friends Miki, who is Cure Berry, and Inori, who becomes Cure Pine.

14-year-old Ichika Usami loves sweets and wishes to become a patisserie. When she encounters fairy Pekorin, she is able to transform into Cure Whip to protect Kirakiraru, an energy that represents the feelings put into making a sweet, from the Kirakiraru Thieves. Ichika joins five other girls to form the KiraKira Pretty Cure team and protect the sweets!

Aida Mana is a girl who is always eager to do things for the sake of others. One day, when she was visiting the Clover Tower during her school's orientation program, an enemy who called themselves 'Jikochuu' suddenly appeared and tried to manipulate her inner heart! To fight this enemy, she borrowed power from a magical fairy Sharuru to transform into a Pretty Cure! To protect the peace of the world, other legendary Pretty Cure soon joined her in battle! When the two girls become aware of the danger, they unite and become Pretty Cure to collect the scattered notes of the Melody of Happiness and protect the world!

After an attack on the Starry Sky World by the Notraiders, the twelve Star Princesses turns into the twelve Princess Star Color Pens and are scattered across the universe!
